Egon Eiermann looked closely at the work of Charles and Ray Eames and their DCM Chair when looking for inspiration for his own SE 68 design.

"I guess the Eiermann model is an interpretation of the DCM chair, so I thought it was right to do a interpretation of the interpretion, plus it would fit perfectly in my re-done portfolio. This industrial classic made by Wilde & Spieht in the 1960s has been cut to be out of shape and colour; each of the four pieces is different, a 'one hit wonder' that shows its right to be divergent. I bought them as spares, then spraypainted and multi-lacquered with 2k varnish."
